'KIN거운 생활'의 기획자 안가영(미디어아트)은 김수희(공간 연출), 김태연(미술)과 협업하여 다중접속 샌드박스 게임인 브이알챗(VRChat)에서 그 문화를 연구하고 머시니마(Machinima) 영상을 제작했다.

'KIN거운 생활'의 기획자 안가영(미디어아트)은 김수희(공간 연출), 김태연(미술)과 협업하여 다중접속 샌드박스 게임인 브이알챗(VRChat)에서 그 문화를 연구하고 머시니마(Machinima) 영상을 제작했다.
이동의 자유가 사라진 예술가들은 온라인 환경으로 이주하기 시작했다. 그곳은 바로 인터넷과 게임 공간의 메타버스, 브이알챗(VRChat).
오랫동안 제작해 온 자신만의 아바타를 빼앗긴 혜지, 빠르게 변화하는 기술에 조바심을 느끼는 미디어 아티스트 민지, 원본 캐릭터의 명예를 되살리기 위해 신체 개조를 감행한 지혜. 게임 속 신체에 부정응한 이들은 난민 아바타로 역할극을 하며, 가상현실 기술에 대한 공포를 놀이로 전유한다.
이들은 가상의 무대로서 킨쉘터(KIN shelter)를 함께 건축하고 이곳에서 '예술가를 위한 가상세계 튜토리얼'을 작성하며 온라인 공간에서 공존의 문제에 대해 고민한다.
Artists who had lost freedom of movement started to transfer into the online environment, VRChat, which is a metaverse of internet and game space. However, because of maladjustment with their in-game bodies, they have gathered again in the KIN shelter. Hyeji has created her own avatar for a long time, but it was replicated easily. Media artist Minji feels anxious because of the fast-changing technology. Jihye carried out her avatar modification to restore the honour of the original character, Miya. Through migration to the VRChat, the online multi-access sandbox game, three artists became virtual refugees as role-playing. They tried to overcome the technophobia of virtual reality. Thinking about the coexistence of virtual bodies, they built the 'KIN shelter' and made the ‘virtual world tutorial for artists’ together.

영상은 vrchat.com 가상현실에 올린 자체 제작 월드와 아바타, 그리고 퍼블릭 월드와 아바타를 이용하여 온라인 다중접속과 화면녹화를 통해 촬영하였으며 머시니마(Machinima)로 제작하였다. 서울문화재단과 한국문화예술위원회의 2020 온라인 미디어 예술활동 지원을 통해 ‘KIN거운생활:온라인’은 제작되었다.
